Reusable instruments

When it comes to reusable instruments, it is vital to use materials that guarantee safe cleaning, disinfection, sterilization and drying. Biocompatible materials with USP Class VI and ISO 10993 approval are essential for all instruments. Whether you’re using Carbon Fiber, different plastics or a hybrid design, we have the experience and expertise to support you in choosing and combining these materials and to efficiently produce even complex reusable parts and assemblies.

REUSABLE CARBON AND COMPOSITE INSTRUMENTS

Optimized combination of Carbon fiber, plastic and steel. Thanks to its many advantages, carbon is often the material of choice for surgery.

The properties of carbon:
  • Radiographic transparency
  • Hot steam sterilizability
  • Dimensional stability and exceptional feel
  • High strength at a low weight
  • Biocompatibility
Gsell develops and manufactures reusable carbon fiber instruments made specifically according to customers’ requests. We have also specialized in processing PEEK and similar high-temperature composites that reliably meet the stringent requirements placed on reusable surgical instruments in conjunction with carbon.

REUSABLE MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS

Plastic instruments. Materials that have been tested for biocompatibility according to ISO 10993-5 and USP Class VI on semi-finished products and that meet FDA requirements are most commonly used for med tech instruments. The materials also have to meet the ever-increasing resistance to cleaning agents and treatments.

REUSABLE TUBES MADE OF HIGH-TEMPERATURE THERMOPLASTICS

We at Gsell develop and produce customized insulation tubes made of PEEK and other high-temperature materials to meet the high weight, strength and electrical insulation requirements. These products guarantee maximum functional reliability and a huge amount of design freedom in minimally invasive surgery. PEEK tubes used in a wide range of med tech areas (including as endoscope sheathing) are another Gsell specialty. They naturally also take the stringent conditions surrounding reprocessing into account.
